Folding Cranes | Enfolding Communities is now being exhibited at Reiman Gardens, Ames, IA! The exhibit represents a crane for every Iowan who has died from COVID since the state began recording COVID-19 statistics on March 24, 2020. Where names are available, they have been written on the wing of a crane.

A memorial to honor all Iowa victims of COVID-19 will be installed at Reiman Gardens, Ames IA, on September 22, 2021. The exhibit is made up of over 6000 origami cranes made one-by-one by artist Pamela S. Douglas. This pandemic experience is an historic phenomenon and communal experience. The intent of the exhibit is to offer an opportunity to honor and reflect upon those who have been lost to COVID-19 within our families and communities. Remain Gardens brings this community event to Ames and its surrounding communities in the "Garden Room." It will be available to the public at this beautiful venue until December 9, 2021.
