Artist's Perspective
Pamela Douglas is a Midwestern artist whose pastel paintings explore the power of color to shape space and evoke memory. Her paintings include still life and landscape, where she layers color and texture to create depth, atmosphere, and emotional resonance.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe everyone has an innate creative voice, and my role is to help students discover and strengthen it. Through exploration, observation, and the the study of color, I encourage students to take risks, embrace mistakes, and find joy in discovery. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where art becomes a path to self-expression and growth.

Adult Group Art Lessons
In these small-group classes (limited to six students), you’ll receive personalized instruction in the medium of your choice — drawing, pastel, acrylic, or oil. Each 3-hour session (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, 1–4 p.m.) is designed for adults ages 16 and up, with guidance tailored to your goals and skill level, whether you’re building strong foundations or developing intermediate techniques.
Private Art Lessons
For those who prefer one-on-one attention, I also offer private lessons tailored to your goals in drawing, pastel, acrylic, or oil. Private sessions are a great way to learn at your own pace, focus on specific challenges, or dive deeper into a medium of your choice. Whether you’re just starting out or building on existing skills, these lessons provide personalized guidance in a relaxed studio setting.
Commissioned Works
I accept a limited number of commissions each year for clients who wish to have a personalized work of art created just for them. Whether it’s a meaningful landscape, still life, or a piece inspired by your vision, I work closely with you to bring your ideas to life. All commissioned projects are outlined with a clear contract to ensure expectations, timelines, and pricing are agreed upon from the start.
